Our Solar System and Planets
The Milky Way is one of the billions of galaxies that are in the Universe. Our solar system is made up of nine planets; Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. The sun plays a crucial part in the solar system as all the planets revolve around it and it also provides heat and light.
The solar system is believed to be 4.6 billion years old when a dust and gas cloud was disturbed by possibly a nearby exploding star. There are four stages to produce a planet or object in space. A cloud of gas shrinks under its gravity and as it shrinks, it heats up as well as flatten out. At it flattens, it spins forming a gigantic disc. The particles inside the disc combine which then form small planet like objects. These then attach and join to each other and form larger objects. As the planets revolve around the sun, the sun would have formed in the center and all the planets formed around it. This process happens over and over again.
